Attend daily Office Hours
IRB Document Review is an asynchronous service that is intended for students who are preparing supplemental materials for their IRB application and cannot attend our group writing sessions.
You will register below and attach your IRB documents on your registration form. An IRB member will review your documents without you present and send you written and/or video feedback for you to revise your documents on your own time. You will receive feedback within 48 hours of the time you register for.
If you register for IRB Document Review, you will not be scheduled to meet or talk with an IRB member in real-time. If you want to work with someone in real-time, then please register for group writing sessions or attend IRB office hours.
Please note that the person who reviews your documents will not be the person who later reviews your application or gives you IRB approval. You may still receive additional feedback after you submit your application.
We can review your recruitment materials, consent letter, and/or information letter. To receive meaningful feedback, please make sure you are using the most current templates and have followed guidance on our website.
We will not review your dissertation proposal, dissertation chapters, data collection instruments, permission letters, etc.
To register for IRB Document Review, follow these 4 steps.
Use the asynchronous resources that are already available to help you to draft and revise your documents correctly. Please visit the following pages and watch the provided videos, which cover the same content as our group writing sessions:
Revise your IRB documents according to the information provided on the pages linked above. Make sure that your documents are as clear as possible.
You should also make sure that you are using the most up-to-date template for consent. Click here to download the current consent letter template.
Once you have used our other resources and revised your documents, you can use our scheduling system below to register for IRB Document Review. Your document will be returned within 48 business hours of the time you select. You do not need to be available during that time.
To receive feedback asynchronously, you must do the following:
Need help? Use our Student Guide for Group Writing Sessions. If that doesn't answer your question, email irb@ncu.edu.
Please select your time zone first. You will then schedule a time for an IRB member to review your documents asynchronously.
